3 Ways to Build a Thrifted Work Wardrobe

Dressing for the office can be challenging. Most workplaces have rules and regulations regarding what employees can and cannot wear. Sometimes, it can be difficult to let your personality shine through when you are limited in your wardrobe options. Today, I want to talk about how I have built my thrifted work wardrobe and how to stand out from the crowd at the office (in a good way)!
Don’t Be Afraid of Patterns
Whenever you go shopping for your work wardrobe, don’t be afraid to invest in a few classic patterned pieces. Personally, I love a black and white plaid patterned shirt. This pattern is classic, versatile and very chic.
Don’t be afraid to wear floral, stripe, or dot patterns to the office (as long as they are work appropriate, of course). Also, be sure to pattern match, if possible. As shown above, I paired this plaid shirt with a pleated leather skirt creating a unique and chic look.
Remember, wearing prints is just one way that you will stand out from the crowd (in a good way)!
Invest in Basics for Your Thrifted Work Wardrobe
Every work wardrobe is built around the basics. By the basics, I mean a basic black blazer, black dress pants, black heels, and a white button-up shirt. These pieces should be included in every work wardrobe.
Whether shopping at a thrift store or retail store, you should pay attent ion to fit, construction, and style while looking for these pieces. Honestly, if necessary, I would pay up for these pieces as they are typically worn frequently and need to last for the long haul.
Dress with Confidence
Finally, be sure to dress with confidence! Whatever you wear to work should make you feel confident and unstoppable. When you feel good about yourself through your wardrobe, other people can sense it. People are always drawn to good vibes!
